I just got home from Paris, by way of Moscow, so I am very tired and swollen, but even that can't dampen my enthusiasm about Brotherswing's Paris Jazz Roots Festival!
I was so grateful to be included in a line-up of some of my favorite dancers: Frida Segerdahl, Skye Humphries, Nathan Bugh, Pontus Persson, Lennart Westerlund, Rémy Kouakou Kouame and Sharon Davis. I wish I could have been a student at this event! Although, I am happy to say that I had a great time with all my students who worked so hard, especially in my Cakewalk taster class. I don't know if you know this, but Cakewalk is exhausting. I just found out myself!

The parties were held at the beautiful La Bellevilloise on the east side of Paris. This place is huge! It has five or six components including a bar and cafe. The dances were in the same building every night, but felt like going to a different club each time. They projected classic dance clips on huge screens which got you really inspired. The whole atmosphere was filled with Swing!

Top 5 moments:
- dancing in the Instructor's Cabaret to the beautiful piano stylings of Nathan Bugh
- Lennart's lecture on the Harlem Renaissance

Here's my favorite video of the weekend. It's the fast Shim Sham from the Instructor's Cabaret.
